Twitter’s in the halls of the Convention Center
You may have heard of Twitter, a sort of “check-in” site where you simply post what you’re doing at the moment and it is broadcast to your contacts on the web, by IM or on your phone. Well, according to Twitter-fella Biz Stone, while you’re at SXSW Interactive, your doings could be broadcast to a wider crowd:
...the conference organizers were kind enough to work with us to do something they’ve never done before. They’re letting Twitter take over the hallways. Everyone knows that the hallways at conferences are always brimming with action and this year Twitter is going to reflect some of that action back out with a couple big plasma monitors showing Twitter updates.
Details of how that’ll work are still to come, Biz says. Since you can choose to make your Twitter updates private to friends only, we assume you’re covered if you want to make sure what happens at the conference stays mum. And don’t be surprised if my Twitter update says, “I’m coveting that big plasma monitor over there. Distract the guards!”
