SXSW Past, Present, and Future: A Podcast Interview with Hugh Forrest

New to me (but perhaps not to you) is a podcast from ITConversations from this past fall with Hugh Forrest, event director for the SXSW Interactive conference, in SXSW Past, Present, and Future. It’s a half-hour conversation that’s part of the Talking Portraits with Tom Parish series. Forrest discusses the Interactive community’s self-organizing aspect, especially in terms of the panel picker (a huge number of panel proposals, with over 170 panels proposed for the “Business” category), Austin as a yearly meetup space, growth of SXSWi over the years (140 panels and dozens of evening activities), and the uniqueness of the Interactive-Film-Music mix.
