Rachael Ray at SXSW Music: The Truth Revealed
Rachael Ray is hosting an official SXSW Music day time party this year, leading many indie music fans scratching their heads. How can the same woman who is responsible for EVOO and uses catchphrases like “delish!” or “yumm-O” really be a huge fan of The Raveonettes and Fuck Buttons? She explains, in an interview with MTV:
“My husband and I listened to a bunch of discs and picked our favorites,” Ray explained. “We also have Sirius, so we’re always listening to the Left of Center program, which is how we heard the Raveonettes. With a band like Holy Fuck, I have to say that it was the name that got us listening. But we’re glad we did. They’re pretty good.
“And I don’t understand why that’s so surprising. I find it weird that they find it weird. People think I’m like this food robot or something, but music is a huge part of my life,” she continued.
The party, open to SXSW Music Badgeholders and guest list, is Saturday, March 15 at Beauty Bar. More details on SXSW.com. Artists performing include The Raveonettes, The Cringe, Scissors For Lefty, The Stills, and Holy Fuck.
