Looks like indie rock, comedy, and video games are going to be a recurring party theme this year at SXSW Interactive. Some interesting events that caught my eye:

Stubb’s BBQ (801 Red River)
Opera will be rocking SXSW Interactive Week with a showcase of music and technology at Stubb’s BBQ and Ampitheater on Monday, March 10th, 2008, 5:30pm-midnight. Rocking this “Rock Bands Rock Opera” event will be Austin-natives, Oliver Future, as well as LA rock bands Gliss, Sabrosa Purr and Taxi Doll. Intro and closing music for the night will be provided by Smalltown Supersound artists. Opera, Opera Mini, and the Wii Internet Channel will be on display. Open bar, all ages show. All-Star Rock Band Showdown starts at 10pm, live music follows by The Vettes and Brenn. Come watch some of your favorite SXSW all-stars play Rock Band at the Cedar Street Courtyard.
