Get your game face on with the Registrant Directory

The SXSW Registrant Directory is online and appears to be a little bit AJAX-ified for 2006. Once you're registered, you can use the Registrant Directory to change your contact information, check on your hotel reservation, compile a list of contacts of friends and associates also attending and even upload your own photo for your conference badge.

Now I'm a smidge skeptical of how this last bit works, since SXSW has offered the opportunity to upload badge photos before and when I got to the check-in desk to pick up my credentials, they had no photo on file for me. But we'll see.

Any photo you upload is subject to approval, by the way, before it appears in the mock-up of your badge in the Registrant Directory. Unfortunately, blocky avatars—no matter how adorable—are apparently not acceptable. When will the world's pernicious anti-Lego-Scotsman prejudice end?!
