iTunes Festival at SXSW
Attended the ITunes Festival last night and it was easily one of my most memorable concert experiences.
Amid the controlled chaos that is SXSW, iTunes brought big names to an intimate venue in an incredibly orderly fashion.
This was my first time in the ACL Live venue and it is amazing that there is literally not a bad seat in the house. The furthest seat is 75 feet from the stage.
Speaking of the stage there was an impressive LED display setup that was Interactive (see what I did there) with the music. Not sure if this feature was rigged by Apple or if it is part and parcel if ACL Live setup. Either way it was a beautiful complement to the show.
Seated in the balcony I thoroughly enjoyed Capital Cities, Band of Skulls, and SoundGarden. I have to admit that I’d never heard if the first and only knew a song or two of the others. But to me SXSW is about exploring new tech, new filmmakers, and especially new bands. Even though they are big names they can still be new to some people.
The ITunes Festival continues tonight with Pitbull, ZEDD, & G.R.L. and concludes tomorrow night with Keith Urban, Willie Nelson, & Mickey Guyton.
